Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan has a multi-ethnic population of about 2.3 million and is the largest city of Central Asia.
The history of Tashkent dates back about 2000 years, during which time it has developed from a small village to the biggest city of Central Asia. Over the centuries the city has experienced many memorable events in times of peace and turbulence. It has experienced wars, decline and progress.

Samarkand. Among world cities Samarkand is one of the most ancient. It is 2500 years old. Samarkand was the capital of the Great Tamerlan Empire.
Its historical monuments are Registan Square (12th century), the Shahi-Zinda cemetery (14th century), the Gur-Emir Mausoleum (15th century), Great Ulugbek Observatory (16th century), the remains of the old city Afrosiab and many others.
Bukhara is like a magnet attracting the curious gaze of millions. A large part of the history of humanity is related to this city. Over many centuries caravans from China and Europe transported not only goods via the Great Silk Road but also acted as intermediaries between the cultures and civilizations of East and West.
